I have a 40-pound Boxer Cross / Eskimo. It is well established and works well with me while I ride my bike (on a leash, of course, as I have) some control over him.

I try to judge what is an acceptable racing riding / for him. We went one hours yesterday, first one foot and then at a trot, and fun times with full career in some hills. In every moment I thought I was tired, slow down, stop, water, etc. .. but are rarely thirsty, panting, and not really willing to just go ahead.

Even after arriving at home after 60 minutes he had power with his toys around the house to play, etc., and never really relaxed and crashed until several hours later. Could it be kept for longer? How far / long you are traveling with your dog?
